Fig 188. Unknown. Cell occupies whole interior of acorn of Q. lobata at Chico, Calif. on Oct. 18 when the nutritive layer was not yet used up. Diameter 5.7 mm.

Pip-gall wasp

Hosts: Quercus cornelius-mulleri, reportedly Quercus berberidifolia

These monothalamous galls are covered with a fine, dense coating of hairs and measure 8 mm across by 4 mm high. The flat or concave top is marked by a slightly darker spot at center.
