[summer] galls are green, conical and comprised of imbricated leaflets. One larva develops per gall. In late September, females from apical galls oviposit into meristematic tissue at the base of the plant where [the?] [sic] neonate larva overwinters. The spring crown gall is formed at this location the following May.
