Asphondylia pruinosa is a univoltine species, producing a spring crown gall on golden ragwort, Packera aurea (Linnaeus) (formerly known as Senecio aureus). Galls develop from meristematic tissue on the root stump. Galls are polythalamous, green and pruinose [glistening] in appearance... Galls occur from mid-April through May.
