GALL
the leaves, especially near the tip of the shoots, are reddish discoloured, swollen, and disfigured shell-like, the internodes are strongly shortened.

Fuchsia arborescens, denticulata, gehringeri, macrophylla, microphylla, magellanica, procumbens, thymifolia.

On, for instance F. aborrescens, microphylla, thymifoliathe mite may have viable population without causing serious malformations.
NOTES
Originally a South African species, in North America and Europe since about 1980 a serious pest in floriculture, especially in glasshouses.
