In view of molecular and behavioral evidence, this species is restricted here to the Dasineura infesting V. macrocarpon (cranberry) (Kim et al. 2022, Mathur et al. 2012). Records of Dasineura oxycoccana infesting other Vaccinium spp. (blueberries) in Canada, USA, Europe (widespread), Japan (Honshu) and Korea are evidently a separate, possibly cryptic species, possibly more than one, for which the very similar D. cyanococci Felt provides an available name.
