Neolasioptera lycopi (Felt). Swellings are monothalamous, subglobular, hard, and about 1 cm long. The pale orange larva lives along the central axis and overwinters in the gall. Hosts: L. "communis", L. uniflorus. Distr.: New York and Maryland.
Neolasioptera mitchellae (Felt). Swellings are polythalamous and spongier and more elongate than those of L. lycopi. Larvae overwinter in the gall. Host: L. virginicus. Distr.: Maryland.
